On April 18, 2023, the 9^th China Guangzhou International Investment Annual Conference and 2023 Global Unicorn CEO Conference was held in Guangzhou. The conference was hosted by Huangpu District, Guangzhou, and Hurun Report. The "2023 Global Unicorn List" lists unlisted companies established after 2000 and valued at more than US$1 billion. The cut-off date for calculating the valuation of the list is December 31, 2022. Hoogewerf, chairman and chief research officer of Hurun Report, said that looking forward to and predicting new opportunities for future economic development, unicorn companies are good reference indicators because they represent the wind direction of the new economy.
